What is a REAL ID?

Updated Texas Card Design and Features

The lines don’t invalidate the card regardless of its unique position, provided the lines don’t cover the holder’s eyes, nose and mouth.

Several persons have expressed concerns over those lines, and the office has promised to remove the lines from the photo area as from summer of 2021 for drivers who are 21 and older. However, persons under 21 will see the changes in their driver’s license and identification cards later in 2021.
